Our new place is great. I'm doing all that moving-around stuff, rearranging, making piles of things to store and things to sell and things to give away, daydreaming about what I'd like to make or buy to sort of change up our style. Doubting it will all happen but I'm having fun dreaming.
Ezekiel has mastered the army crawl. When he is happy and sees something fantastically exciting, he bolts after it, panting with excitement. It's adorable. And when he's tired and I'm a few feet away, he crawls to me, saying "mama mama aamamamama" the whole way. It's wonderful. He is the sweetest, most affectionate baby and I love this not-quite-eight-months age so much. He is sitting really well now and is pretty happy about having that slightly higher perspective. He adores his siblings and his daddy. He loves being in my arms or in the baby carrier and he loves to give big kisses. The more tired he is, the more kisses he gives.
He loves to eat little bits of my food and watches me hungrily, making chewing motions, every time I eat anything in front of him. It makes me feel terribly guilty whenever I don't share. Tonight I had been holding him, knowing he was hungry and that I would give him his first taste of meat after I got it ready, and so I set him down on his belly so that I could cut up the chicken. He was staring up at me, waiting, and I finally gave him a teeny taste of chicken. It was his first time having meat and apparently he takes after his brother in loving meat, because as soon as it was in his mouth, he changed from slightly anxious to purely satiated and laid his head down on the floor in pure satisfaction while he savored it. Kind of ridiculous.
There were several sweet things that happened with our other kids today that I intended to write down but I absolutely cannot remember now what they were. They are so sweet and wonderful though and are still enjoying getting settled in. Abraham switched over to a big boy bed when we moved and is handling it like a pro. Hasn't even fallen out once yet. I'm so impressed.
