laundry day

Monday is Laundry Day in our home.

I established this habit quite a while ago but have been doing it with renewed vigor in the last few months. Our home tends to be messy after the weekend anyway, so gathering up every last thing in the house that needs washed and washing everything on the first day of the week seems to work well for me. Rilla and Abraham love to help me with this task, and Ezekiel is entertained by watching me sort the laundry (aka throw clothes to different piles all over the living room).

Of course, there is usually some laundry hanging out on the sofa for an extra day before I get it all put away... or most of it put away and the remainder stowed in a laundry basket meant especially for clean clothes, aka the socks that I can never quite finish getting put away... but the children don't mind a bit when there are extra piles of laundry for them. It's more fun to read when you are sitting on top of a gigantic mountain of laundry, you know!
