I couldn't stop beaming with joy when I discovered the many, much-better pictures that Keith's mom took at Rilla's birthday party. Kinda made me realize that maybe it really is time to get a new camera. Ours takes such horrible indoor pictures. But look at this adorable girl at her second birthday party!

Nine months of pregnancy... countless lifestyle changes... twenty-seven hours of drug-free back labor... a full year with pathetically little sleep... all the books and research and forcing myself to learn self-discipline... five hours making your birthday crown... even the twenty bucks I spent on those ridiculously overpriced grocery store helium balloons for your birthday... you are SO worth it. All that and more. How I love watching you grow, and how I delight in being your mommy. What a blessing you are to me every day, and how thankful I am for God's beautiful grace in giving you to us.
She is absolutely adorable, and her birthday singing smile was just priceless! How I love my little niece! And I totally agree on those over-priced balloons; they are just so cheerfully birthday that I somehow find myself splurging on them for every birthday our kids have had!
