I don't seem to be able to put together deep, lengthy blog posts lately. They just aren't there!
But there is so much to be thankful for.
I have just been loving, savoring, enjoying this autumn weather so much. It is lovely.
We have lots of leafy trees in our yard! They are lovely too.
Keith preached a wonderful message on Sunday. I was so proud of him. It was so edifying, so sincere, so rich, so satisfying. So convicting, too! It is pretty awesome to go to church and hear a great message from the pastor. All the better when the pastor is your husband!!!! I was really proud of Keith. He labored all week, not so much on figuring out how to say when he wanted to say, but really digging into the truth of God's Word, really letting it sink into him. He spoke about how we are disciples if we abide in God's Word (John 8:41) and how we are to let the Word of God dwell in us richly. It was a really good sermon!
I have been so blessed lately by our friends here. I cannot get over how kind people are in this church, how good they are at loving one another. I know they are still kind of figuring us out, getting to know us, and all of that, but they sure are a great group of people.
When we moved down to Utah after college, it was so we could be part of the church there. When we came to Iowa in March to visit, it was the kind of church that we wanted to be a part of... the kind of church worth moving to be a part of. We wanted to be part of what God is doing here! Getting to actually come here as leaders sometimes seems like just a bonus! It is just so good to be a part of this body of believers.
And there are so many great other things going on too. This last month or so has been the best yet since living in Iowa. I have just been savoring it tremendously.
My friend Janie helped me paint our library a lovely yellow color.
Ezekiel is saying a lot of new words (and screeching, that part I don't love so much).
