I posted yesterday about our new homeschool classroom. Here's the follow-up post of us all enjoying the homeschool area a few days ago! Monday was our first "official" day of home education. I think of us as having always been homeschoolers, since it was our plan since the time Priscilla was born and before. And I think knowing that you intend to educate your children at home long-term really changes the way you parent in general! But this is the first year that we have purchased an actual curriculum and have begun to follow a daily guide.
As I've mentioned before, we have decided to use the My Father's World curriculum. It seems to be a really fantastic fit for us! The kindergarten level is just right for Rilla, so that's where we are starting. I supplemented it even on the first day, but I'm quite happy with what I've seen so far in looking through and as I've begun teaching it.
Here's Rilla working diligently on her first project!
Abraham is working on projects alongside Rilla, but giving them his own flair.
As in, not interested in sticking to the lesson plan... which is just fine!
And actually a relief for me, because I was temporarily nervous that he
would want to do all the same work... but he doesn't. Which is great.
Ezekiel is at the table with us too, although he
prefers throwing crayons over drawing with them.
And here I am! Looking very much in need of a shower.
But also happy. I'm sure it won't be the last time that this is
how I look while doing our homeschool work in the morning!
