posts worth reading [meant to share these last month edition]

I found this post in my drafts folder yesterday and thought I should share it. I meant to post it seven or eight weeks ago. It's great how if you look at these, you can see exactly what I was struggling with and needed encouragement in. Just the titles give it away.

A Day in the Life of a New-Again Mama
This is beautiful. The idea of this post is to be a part of the "day in the life" series for homeschooling mamas but... what about just having this for any mama? It made me long to have somebody follow me around one day and photograph all the beautiful, glorious, mundane but holy moments that make up these days as a young mother with young ones all around me. If anyone would ever do that for me, it would be the best present ever, and I would make a photo thing sorta like the one on this blog and make it big and hang it on my wall forever and treasure it always and probably cry every time I look at it because wow, what a beautiful treasure it would be. Just sayin'.

"Fear will present a laundry list of things you must acquire before you start chasing your dream. Fear is a liar. You need a lot less than you think to start."

"In the midst of struggles. In the midst of my victories. 'God, I love you. I don’t love this situation. But I love you. Therefore, I have everything I need to keep putting one foot in front of the other and walk through until I get to the other side of this.' One step at a time. With the full assurance God is okay with me even when I’m not okay with me."

“When looking at the most successful people and organizations, we often imagine geniuses with a smooth journey straight to the Promised Land. But when you really examine nearly every success story, they are filled with crushing defeats, near-death experiences, and countless setbacks. We often celebrate companies and individuals once they’ve achieved undeniable success, but shun their disruptive ideas before reaching such a pinnacle.”

"For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will - to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves."

I subscribe to many blogs but there many that I skip reading at times. This is one of very few that I never skip. Marissa is my friend from college and she is an amazing woman whose mothering journey has encouraged and challenged me sooo many times that I certainly owe more than a little of my own mothering style to her example. Here she writes so beautifully of the grief and love that are all wrapped together in the remembering of a baby treasured and lost. I can relate.

What Every Hard Week Needs to Know
"His grace will be more than just sufficient — His grace is guaranteed to actually save. Time, me, the week, all redeemed and miracles happen in mirrors and to people we know. When we know Christ, we always know how things are going to go — always for our good and always for His glory."
