a note about the earlier post

After posting that post this morning and then taking a certain long road trip today to visit a certain new little nephew who was born this morning (10/11/12! such a great birthday!), I happened to be at home again reading Ezekiel 36 and 37 tonight. And you know what? Ezekiel 37 is such a beautiful, incredible chapter. God is AMAZING. So beautiful, so good, so in love with His people and so full of awesome wonders. And so I had a pang of hurt for joking about it in that post from earlier today. And so let me just add this disclaimer about that one sentence I'd included about our Ezekiel, and when will he prophesy to dry bones?...

I absolutely, positively believe that the Bible is true. All of it. Absolutely true. I believe that the God who made the heavens and earth reaches down to us, communes with us, lives in us when we put our trust and faith in Him. I believe that He spoke to the prophet Ezekiel and guided him to do some crazy things... and honestly, He has guided me to do some crazy things too... and it was all part of His absolutely, positively PERFECT plan. So. If there is anyone who read what I wrote earlier and thought I might have been mocking His Word, let me say this: I wasn't. I didn't mean it that way. I thought the paper thing was a funny correlation but God's Word is GOOD and TRUE and I believe in God with all my heart. That last sentence I'd written in the other post was just a bit off, just a bit flippant about God and His amazing work in that valley of dry bones (and thus also the restoration power of His breath on these dry bones of my life), and so I just felt the need to correct it a bit. I'm sorry, God.
