Keith and I took a little trip to Spokane together a few weeks ago. It was the first time since Priscilla was born more than three years ago that we'd been away from our children overnight, and it was lovely to be just the two of us for a few days.
Our first stop was the historic Steamplant Square. We happened upon it randomly, as is often the case for us on these sorts of adventures, and yet it was just the right place for us to start. The buildings are a lovely restoration of an old steam plant, and we had a lot of fun exploring it.

I don't really know what these were for...
they just had a cool look to them.
We ate at the Steamplant Grill... landing upon it when the amaaaazing appetizers and beer were half price, fortunately... and it was perfectly, wonderfully delicious.
Thoroughly enjoying our dinner together.
Note the original steam pipes still in place.
Keith was very, very pleased with the beer.
His recommendation: the Pipefitter Porter.
Later, we went to a Chiefs hockey game. Not that we really know all that much about hockey, but it was still exciting to watch a game with 7800+ other people, leaping to our feet to cheer and such, and enjoying the rarity of the late-night excursion.
Chiefs vs... oh... somebody else
quite happy in our high-up seats
We had gotten a pretty good deal on Priceline for our hotel, made much better by having a lovely corner room overlooking the river. It was rainy and would have been a lovely place to go for a walk, had we felt like walking or being cold.

Overall, our few days away were refreshing, and so good to have a break. Lots of good food and the best company ever, lots of time for uninterrupted conversation. Such a good thing.
