Keith finished his training course last week and successfully passed his CDL examination this weekend. Yay! So he is now licensed as a commercial truck driver and starts work tomorrow... at 4 am. Ouch! Welcome to the life of driving log trucks. After more than five months without work, though, we're thinking that getting one of those paycheck thingies again might be nice.
It has been finally warming up... a little bit... now and then. I cannot emphasize the world finally enough. I know I'm not the only one tired of the cold weather. But. Seriously. I was hoping for warm weather in March... and then April... and then May... and now that it is June, well, I don't think I have ever been so excited for it to be June as I am now!
We have been celebrating the warmer weather... between bouts of rain showers... by hanging out in the yard and especially the sandbox. It is so fun to watch our little ones enjoy themselves in the sand. They are just the perfect size and age for this little frog box that Keith got for them.
Today was the most Mondayish of Mondays that I have had in a long, long time. I was incredibly cranky from the start... bad dreams, little sleep, and a too-full weekend... so I'm sure it was my fault. But it didn't help when the children learned how to put handfuls of sand in their hair and I had to learn how to get it out. Then Rilla got bit - more like attacked, really - by a ferocious black ant, one of many suddenly invading her room. I think it traumatized me more than her... ughhh, I hate ants!... but it did take a good chunk out of her toe, nasty little thing. Ugh, it was horrid. But I might be just slightly more content in the midst of this cold weather at the remembrance that if we lived where there was warmth and sun, we'd also have scarier insects and have to deal with things like scorpions and snakes rather than just little black ants. So I'll just keep hoping for some sunshine here and appreciate that we don't live where the bugs are scarier.

ReplyDeleteI had one of those Mondays, too. It was awful and I found myself overreacting emotionally to everything at work. At least its Tuesday now and well on its way to being Wednesday! :)
Thanks for the enjoyable blogs!
