Rilla singing "How Deep The Father's Love for Us" in it's entirety
a lovely playdate with new friends
Abraham saying "cow" and "moo" with great satisfaction and enthusiasm
getting a chance to read a bit in a very good book
hearing Rilla say "Thank You, God, for Mommy"
feeling reassured about making good parenting choices
Abraham giggling and kissing his sister through the window
playing with Rilla in the dollhouse
reading books with our little ones
Rilla dusting every surface she could find, which was actually quite helpful
Rilla giggling like crazy when I threw her high in the air
my beloved husband coming home to me, an event which never grows less exciting
[... and I know this one may seem slightly less sentimental, but it was really funny...]
Keith laughing when I walked into the wall... which is funny because when you are married a year or two, such a thing is met with "oh, honey, are you okay, let me hold you" and when you are married seven years, such a thing is met with "ha ha ha! did you run into the wall?"
[... we are still sentimental but sometimes there is only time to laugh and keep going...]
a cleaner house at the end of the day than the beginning, despite intentionally not focusing on it
the satisfaction of homemade sushi turning out right for once
snuggling our little son to sleep tonight
I love this! Jamie, it's like the Book of Awesome, only it's better, because it's more like the Book of Contentment.
ReplyDeleteThings that 'celebrate life' ARE awesome. And when you can recognize all those simple little things in your day, they add up. I wish I were more aware throughout my day, and could list them in the evening like this.
haha, I love the walking into the wall story. So true. we had to run into the bank the other day and it's in a strip mall. Mark told me to run in while he stayed in the car with the kids. I wasn't paying attention at all and I walked into the pet food store right next to the bank and didn't notice until I was pretty much at the counter. When I walked out Mark was laughing hysterically.
ReplyDeleteI love all of the moments you loved.
I'm glad I found this. Don't know you, but reading this reminded me of all the similarly small but wonderful moments in my own life.
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
I just got caught up on some blog reading today, and as per usual, enjoyed and was inspired by your latest posts the most. THANK YOU for sharing your heart and life with the world... :) It's so encouraging to be able to relate to some of your personal struggles, read your kiddo book reviews (which I will be shortly looking up on our library database), and special family moments. Thanks, Jamie!
